Meet the faculty members for the Industrial Electronics Technology Certificate, which is part of the Engineering Technology program area.

Kamyar Pashayi

Kamyar PashayiAssistant Professor and Chair, Engineering Technology

Dr. Kamyar Pashayi teaches in the Advanced Manufacturing and Automation AS, CAD/SolidWorks Certificate, and CNC Machining Certificate programs. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Science, a Master’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, and a PhD in Mechanical Engineering. He received his PhD from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY in 2012. After graduation, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State University at Harrisburg as a faculty member. Besides his teaching background, he has worked in aerospace and boiler and pressure vessel manufacturing companies for over 6 year.

He believes that a student will excel with persistence, determination, and hard work. He encourages his students to be creative and confident. These are the values that he had as a student, and he hopes to pass these values on to his students.

Jared Cupp

Jared CuppLecturer

Jared Cupp is an aerospace consultant working as a program manager, engineer, and advisor to C-level executives. His employment experience includes Lockheed Martin, General Atomics, and Northrop Grumman as both a program manager and lead engineer on a multitude of projects. He employs systems engineering development techniques by leading the definition, design, integration, testing, verification, and validation activities for production technology. He focuses on people and results through collaborating, engaging, and inspiring others while acting as a role model. This develops a thriving culture where colleagues enjoy the confidence to learn skills, work safely, feel respected, and connect in helping each other for a lifetime.

He is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Systems Engineering from Colorado State University at Fort Collins. He also earned his Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Fullerton; Master of Business Administration from Washington State University; Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Fullerton; and an Associate of Arts in Physics from Fullerton College in California. He also earned his certificate in Aircraft Combat Survivability and Electromagnetic Material Measurements from the Naval Postgraduate School and the Georgia Institute of Technology, respectively.

Mozhgan Hosseinpour

Mozghan HosseinpourDirector of Curriculum Development and Assessment

Mozhgan Hosseinpour is in her 36th year at the college. Before joining the Academic Affairs department as Director of Curriculum Development and Assessment this year, she was a Professor in the Electronics Engineering Technology program. Professor Hosseinpour also serves as Systems Manager for the implementation of SIS systems at Franklin Cummings Tech and oversees course scheduling, among the many activities in which she is involved. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and a Compu Master Certificate in Computer Engineering Studies. Her experience includes the design, development, and implementation of training curricula for industrial companies such as CP CLARE, ALPHA , MA/Com and Tyco, Analog devices Industries.

Nikhil Satyala

Nikhil Satyala, PhDAssociate Professor, Engineering Technology

Dr. Nikhil Satyala is an Associate Professor and Executive Director of the Center for Energy Efficiency. He has over a decade of academic experience in the areas of energy systems, computer programming, robotics, and automation technology. His teaching is focused on developing diversified student-centered classroom environments with an emphasis on industry-aligned curricula. Dr. Satyala directs the center’s strategic planning for grant implementation, external partner collaborations, recruitment initiatives, and outreach processes. As a member of the Academic Affairs team, he coordinates the implementation of the programmatic vision of the institution. Dr. Satyala received his Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from Oklahoma State University in 2014 and a Master of Engineering in Electrical degree from The University of Texas in 2007. Dr. Satyala has published numerous journal articles and peer-reviewed papers in the areas of semiconductor materials/devices, energy harvesting, and nanotechnology.
