The Office of Academic Affairs oversees all academic departments, academic planning, program development, research and creative work, excellence in teaching and academic innovation.

Marvin Loiseau

Marvin J. Loiseau, Ed.DDean of Academic and Student Affairs

Dr. Marvin Loiseau began his tenure at the college in July 2011 and previously served as Dean of Recruitment. Before joining the college, he worked at Mount Ida College as Associate Dean of Undergraduate Admissions. He has higher education experience in undergraduate and graduate admissions, financial aid, and residence life through his roles at Mount Ida College, Babson College, and Suffolk University. He received his BA in Business Management from Mount Ida College, a Master’s Degree in Education from Suffolk University, and a Doctorate in Education from Northeastern University.

Darwin Almonte

Darwin AlmonteAssistant Director of Clean Tech Programs

Darwin Almonte is a dynamic and customer-oriented professional with a diverse background spanning Real Estate, Information Technology, and Hospitality. Known for his unwavering optimism, Darwin brings a unique blend of skills to the table. With a history in Real Estate, he possesses a keen understanding of property dynamics and market trends. In the realm of Information Technology, Darwin has showcased his adaptability and proficiency in leveraging technology to enhance customer experiences. His multifaceted career also includes a stint in hospitality, showcasing his interpersonal skills and ability to create memorable experiences for patrons.

Passionate about holistic well-being, Darwin is an avid enthusiast of physical activities such as yoga, weight training, and running. This commitment to a healthy lifestyle not only reflects his personal choices but also influences his professional approach, fostering a positive and energetic work environment.

Sharon Bonk

Sharon BonkDirector of Library Services and Online Learning

Sharon Bonk has dedicated over 25 years to Franklin Cummings Tech as Director of Library Services, leading the library’s transition from traditional card catalogs and physical collections to a fully digital library. Under her leadership, the library has become a dynamic and accessible resource, offering extensive online collections, services, and programming that support the college’s academic mission and ensure equitable access to information for students, faculty, and staff.
In addition to her administrative role, Prof. Bonk is a full professor, teaching social science courses that reflect her expertise and passions in information literacy, media literacy, political science, financial planning, sustainability, and the history of technology. Her interdisciplinary approach emphasizes critical thinking and equips students with the tools to succeed in a rapidly evolving world.
Prof. Bonk is also a champion for online learning at the college. Upon its introduction in 2017, she embraced the Canvas Learning Management System, becoming an advanced user and administrator. Through ongoing professional development, she has established herself as the college’s authority on online education, ensuring innovative and effective learning delivery for all students.
Prof. Bonk holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Journalism and Political Science and a Master of Library Science (MLS) from the University of Rhode Island. Her longstanding commitment to academic excellence and forward-thinking vision for library and online services have made her an integral part of the Franklin Cummings Tech community.
Gary Chin

Gary Chin Assistant Director for Continuing Education and Workforce Programs

Gary Chin is Assistant Director for Continuing Education and Workforce Programs, which serves working adults who want to advance their careers through education. In his role, he develops new continuing education programs, ensuring that they align with community, market, and employer needs; establishes positive and productive relationships with community-based organizations, trade groups, and employers; and manages all phases of program implementation. Prior to joining Franklin Cummings Tech, he was Director of Community Engagement at Bikes Not Bombs (BNB) in Boston, where he managed community partnerships and basic bike education classes for youth and adults. He also helped develop and implement BNB’s new strategic plan, growing the organization from a $1.3M operating budget in 2020 to $4.1M in 2023. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Ithaca College and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Marian University.

Dr. Gerald Elysee

Gerald Elysee, PhDDirector of Faculty Affairs

Dr. Elysee Previously served as Program Chair for Health Information Technology here at Franklin Cummings Tech. In his new administrative role, Dr. Elysee will be responsible for onboarding and supporting faculty and will serve as liaison between the Office of Academic Affairs and all faculty. Dr. Elysee earned his Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical Engineering at Pratt Institute, a second Bachelor of Science in Physical Science from St. John’s University, Master of Science in Management from Lesley University, and his PhD in Organization and Management with a specialization in Information Technology Management from Capella University.

Dr. Damany Fisher supports businesses taking crucial steps into meaningfully including talent with records in the workforce.

Mozhgan Hosseinpour

Mozhgan HosseinpourDirector of Curriculum Development and Assessment

Mozhgan Hosseinpour is in her 36th year at the college and joined the Academic Affairs department as Director of Curriculum Development and Assessment in 2021. She also serves as Systems Manager for the implementation of SIS systems at Franklin Cummings Tech and oversees course scheduling, among the many activities in which she is involved. Her academic credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Boston University and a Compu Master Certificate in Computer Engineering Studies. Her experience includes the design, development, and implementation of training curricula for industrial companies such as CP CLARE, ALPHA , MA/Com and Tyco, Analog devices Industries.

Daniel Ibarrondo

Daniel Ibarrondo, JD, Ed.DSpecial Advisor to the Dean

Dr. Ibarrondo was the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at Cambridge College Global, where he spearheaded the development of the first-in-the-nation MBA program with a core concentration in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging. Prior to working at Cambridge College Global, Dr. Ibarrondo was Associate Dean for Online Learning at Quincy College where he quadrupled projected enrollment goals from 400 with over 1700 online student registrations. Dr. Ibarrondo earned his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Puerto Rican Studies from Fordham University in Bronx NY, Juris Doctor from State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law, an ED. S. (Education Specialist) in Bilingual and Bicultural Education from Seton Hall University and Ed. D. in Learning and Educational Technologies from Pepperdine University.

Antonio Mondragon-Torres

Antonio Mondragon-Torres, PhDExecutive Director for the Center of Energy Efficiency and the Trades

Dr. Mondragon-Torres was the Director of Innovation Engineering at Acuity Brands for the last five years. He managed a group of firmware engineers to develop and sustain the areas of wireless communications for networking, asset tracking, and indoor navigation. Most recently, his team at Acuity Brands was reporting to the Distech Building Management products and solutions organization on Energy optimization and AI/ML integration. Before working at Acuity Brands, Dr. Mondragon-Torres worked at Latch, founded by one former student as a startup and was grown to be listed on NASDAQ. Before that, he worked as a validation engineering manager for Intel in Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Mondragon-Torres was a tenure-track assistant professor of engineering technology at Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), where he taught various Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology programs. Before joining RIT, he worked for over six years as a Member of Technical staff at the Digital Signal Processing R&D center at Texas Instruments in Dallas, TX.

Dr. Mondragon-Torres earned his Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico, an MBA from Rochester Institute of Technology and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Natalie Patalano

Natalie PatalanoAssistant Director for Continuing Education and Workforce Programs

Natalie Patalano joined Franklin Cummings Tech in 2023. As Assistant Director for Continuing Education and Workforce Programs (CEWP), she liaises with partner organizations and faculty to develop, manage, and implement workforce training initiatives for adult learners.

Before coming to Franklin Cummings Tech, Natalie was an English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) educator and program director at the International Institute of New England (IINE). There, she taught advanced workforce English courses, developed curricula and digital literacy trainings, and administered the Massachusetts Department of Education’s Adult and Community Learning Services (ACLS) budget. Natalie has nine years of experience in nonprofit education, including teaching, instructional design, and career advising to support international students, immigrant populations, people of refugee status, and other underserved communities. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Italian Language and Literature from Rhode Island College, which included study abroad at the Istituto Lorenzo de’ Medici in Florence, Italy, as well as a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) through the Boston Academy of English. Natalie is nearing completion of a master’s degree in Media, Ethics, and Social Change with the University of Sussex, where she is researching the intersection of social justice strategy and digital technologies. Her greatest career joys come from engaging with new perspectives and serving educational initiatives that center on cultural humility and transformational learning opportunities.

Dr. Meredith Quinn

Meredith Quinn, PhDExecutive Director of the Center for Computing and Interdisciplinary Technology

Meredith Quinn is Executive Director for the college’s Center for Computing and Interdisciplinary Technology within the office of Academic Affairs. She collaborates with program chairs to ensure that Franklin Cummings Tech students are fully prepared for employment after graduation. Programs she supports include: Biotechnology, Business, Computer IT (Cybersecurity), Opticianry, General Education, and Continuing Education and Workforce Programs. She also represents the college at local, regional, and national conferences and oversees the launch of new programs. Previously, Meredith worked at Harvard University, where she served as Chief of Staff to the university’s provost, and head of strategy and academic programs for the Harvard Radcliffe Institute. She has also worked in higher ed strategy consulting, K-12 teacher recruitment, and management consulting. She holds an MBA from Stanford University and a PhD in History from Harvard.

Jazmyne TaylorAdministrative Assistant

Jazmyne Taylor joined the college in 2022. During her tenure, she has enhanced productivity in the Academic Affairs division by assisting with Curriculum Development and Assessment, Data Analytics, and Faculty Support. Jazmyne came to Franklin Cummings Tech from the retail industry, where she worked for seven years in progressive roles culminating as a supervisor. Whether as an individual contributor or manager, Jazmyne takes pride in prioritizing customer service and leveraging her detailed organizational skills.
