Blair WongProfessor and Chair of Opticianry
Blair Wong is a MA Licensed Optician, a Master in Ophthalmic Optics, a 1980 graduate of the Optical Institute at Newbury College, and a 2007 graduate from Cambridge College with a Master’s Degree in Education. With over 30 years of experience, Wong has been the founding Director of Opticianry since 2007. An active member of the optical profession, he has served on many national committees and association boards, including Executive Director of the Opticians Association of Massachusetts (OAM) since 2000, as well as being an OAM Past-President. He is truly dedicated to the advancement of opticianry and was inducted into the Opticians Association of America Hall of Fame at the organization’s National Leadership Conference in 2022. He was also recognized with the Massachusetts Optician of the Year award (2011), the Opticians Association of America President’s Service Award (2013), and the Joseph Bruneni Memorial Educator of the Year Award (2013) from the National Academy of Opticianry. He is a nationally recognized lecturer on Ophthalmic Optics, and is also an Assistant Professor of Optics at the New England College of Optometry. “Helping students to be successful in the world” is his mission in teaching.

Dibby BartlettLecturer
Dibby (Olivia) Bartlett has been in the optical industry for over 40 years holding various roles including optician, optical manager, marketing manager, operations management and consultant. She has been part of sales and operations with REM Eyewear, SafiloUSA and recently served as COO of Todd Rogers Eyewear.
She is Past President of the Opticians Association of America and also a Past President of the Opticians Association of Massachusetts, where she is currently Treasurer, and has held a director position for 14 years. She is an adjunct faculty member at Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology in Boston, teaching Optical Business. She is also an Honored Fellow of the Opticians Association of America and a recipient of the OAM Presidents Award and Infinity Award and the OAA’s State Leader of the Year.
Dibby is currently a member of the Board of Directors of Innovative Eyewear, Lucyd-a smart eyewear company, and Good Vision USA, a non profit devoted to bringing vision to those in need.
She is currently a consultant to the optical industry.
Dibby was voted one of Vision Mondays Most Influential Women in both 2018 and 2020. She was also the recipient of Eyecare Business’ GameChanger Award in 2020.
She obtained her Massachusetts Opticians license in 1987 and is ABO certified and is an ABO certified speaker.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Clark University. Dibby resides in Marshfield, Massachusetts with her husband and has two grown children.

George Bourque Jr.Instructor
George Bourque Jr. has been a licensed Massachusetts optician since 1999. He earned his degree from the Worcester Technical Institute and has earned his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts. He is American Board Opticianry advanced certified and National Contact Lens certified. He is also a member of the Opticians Association of Massachusetts and is on the Board of Directors. He says the favorite part of his job is helping people solve their visual problems.

William EichholdLecturer
William Eichhold is currently the sole proprietor, RDO dispensing optician and contact lens fitter at Brighton Optical, Brighton, MA, and dispensing optician, ophthalmic tech for Harvard University Health Service Ophthalmology Dept. He is on the Board of Directors of the Optician Association of MA and is a certified member of the Contact Lens Society of America. His work history in the industry include roles at Brighton Optical, Harvard University Health Service, and Parrelli Optical.
He earned a BA in Business Administration from Moravian College in Bethlehem, PA, and graduated from the Opticianry program at the Optician School of Framingham. He holds a Dispensing Optician license from the MA Board of Registration.

Kevin SilvaLecturer
Kevin Silva, ABOC, NCLEC, is the immediate past president of Opticians Association of Massachusetts. With 20 years of experience in the optical field, he serves the greater Boston community as the optical department manager at the NeighborHealth – South End and adjunct instructor at Franklin Cummings Tech. For his many contributions, Kevin received the President’s Award in 2016 and the Optician of the Year Award in 2018. Kevin is a graduate of Suffolk University with a degree in management and marketing.

Da Ni YanLecturer
Dani Yan is a MA Licensed Optician, and a Franklin Cummings Tech alumnus. She graduated magna cum laude with an Associate in Science in Opticianry in 2018. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Molecular Biology from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Science (MCPHS University). Her passion is to help others; therefore, she decided to become a faculty member and a mentor, sharing her life experiences and wisdom, as well as technical expertise, to Opticianry students to guide them to become licensed opticians.
