We launched a partnership with McDonald’s, where they will reserve spots for summer jobs at their local restaurants for Franklin Cummings Tech students. These jobs come with the usual benefits (strong starting salary, excellent training), as well as extra money for college. After just 90 days of employment, student-employees who are in good standing and meet a minimum average number of work hours per week can qualify for $2,500 to $3,000 in tuition assistance. Over those 90 days, this is like getting an additional $10 an hour on top of a regular salary.
Other details:
- McDonald’s franchise owners are committed to helping employees schedule shifts and work around their classes and studies.
- Tuition assistance does not have to be repaid and can be used for eligible college expenses, such as tuition, tools, fees, and textbooks.
- All of our programs are eligible for Archways to Opportunity tuition assistance.

Also, in the video below, McDonald’s Government Relations Officer for Massachusetts, Rachel Kaprielian, explains how McDonald’s employees can benefit from the Archways to Opportunity, a comprehensive education strategy with multiple programs that create an affordable pathway for further learning and career progression.
