Sorayah Cabe, Cybersecurity ’26 AS

Sorayah Cabe

Franklin Cummings Tech partners with many organizations to help make education more affordable and accessible for students like Sorayah Cabe, currently pursuing her associate degree in Computer Information Technology/Cybersecurity.

Sorayah began her cybersecurity studies with Franklin Cummings Tech in October 2023 as part of the inaugural Cybersecurity Fundamentals cohort, a no-cost-to-the-student program created through a partnership with El Centro Adult Education (part of Catholic Charities Boston). She continued into our associate degree program and received a 10% tuition discount thanks to our partnership with Boston Medical Center, where she works in the patient support area.

“The free training and this tuition discount really helped a lot,” said Sorayah, who emigrated from Haiti after graduating high school in 2020. “College is an investment. I came to America to succeed. Without an education, how would I do that?”

Over the past year, Sorayah earned industry-recognized CompTIA certifications. This Spring, she also joined our team as an academic tutor, guiding fellow students toward achieving their CompTIA Security+ certification. She also served on panel at the college’s recent Cybersecurity Discovery Day, sharing her experiences with high school students considering a computer career.

“I’ve always been curious to know what’s going on behind the scenes when you do things like send an email,” said Sorayah, who will complete her associate degree in May 2026. “I would love to be a PEN [penetration] tester. You’re a hacker, but a good one….I want to open my own business and offer my own services.”

In her spare time, Sorayah is building a home hacking lab with a monitor, a keyboard, and a server to practice what she learns in class. Her dedication and achievements exemplify the transformative impact of our partnerships.
