BFIT Board Adopts Racial Justice Resolution

August 4, 2020

The members of the Board of Trustees met over the course of the past two months to draft and adopt a resolution on diversity, equity, inclusion, and racial justice, with the goal of supporting and delivering against Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology’s mission.

In the process, the Board acknowledges and condemns the presence of systemic racism in our society, aware that it permeates virtually all institutions based on the legal and historical realities of the last 400 years and the present day. The statement serves as a public declaration of the fact that even those doing constructive, positive work for change are inherently part of a system that is rife with unacceptable truths and barriers that need to be dismantled.

Trustees plan to support and partner with faculty and staff of the college to ensure that the tenets of this resolution are carried out.
