Meet the Early College Team

Lara Tavares, BA, MA, returns to the college after having served in the Early College Access Department at Massasoit Community College. During her initial tenure as Associate Director of Early College Initiative, Lara created community partnerships, recruited diverse sets of local students, advised high school juniors and seniors, designed culturally inclusive programming, and co-developed a peer mentorship network for the Advanced Standing Associates Program. She is a graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School, Brandeis (BA), and Boston College (MA).

Clinton Ngamne was born and raised in Cameroon. He earned his Associate of Science degree in Renewable Energy/Engineering Technology at Franklin Cummings Tech in Boston. He is a former Advanced Standing Associates Program (ASAP) student who also served as an ASAP peer mentor and in other student leadership roles. These experiences sparked his passion for working with students and providing individuals with the resources needed to succeed. Now serving as the Early College Success Coach, he works closely with students, high school liaisons, and faculty to connect students with resources and to effectively advise and support students on their path to success.

Early College Mission
Early College at Franklin Cummings Tech is committed to serving high school students by giving access to career readiness and tech fields. Early College exposes and prepares students for higher education, careers, and citizenship.
Early College Opportunities at Franklin Cummings Tech
We have two programs designed to meet each student’s goals. Below you can learn more about each program and see which one is the best fit for you and your students:
Advanced Standing Associates Program (ASAP) | Dual Enrollment Program (and Boot Camps) |
Our Advanced Standing Associates Program (ASAP) gives high school seniors an opportunity to earn up to one year of college credits while they are still in high school.

Our Dual Enrollment program allows high school juniors and seniors to take courses for college or high school credit each semester.
High School students and schools have several options to participate in Dual Enrollment programs at Franklin Cummings Tech:

Early College Qualifications and Requirements
Students will need to submit:
- Our online Application Form
- High school transcript
- Fill out the FERPA release form
Students must also:
- Attend 80-90% of high school classes.
- Be interested in one of our associate degree or bachelor’s degree programs.
- Commit to building a good college transcript.

- Submit a copy of high school transcript to earlycollege@franklincummings.edu
