College Withdrawal Form

Students who find it necessary to withdraw completely from Franklin Cummings Tech must immediately submit to the Registrar an Official Withdrawal Form.  Absence from class does not reduce a student’s financial obligation nor guarantee that a final grade will not be recorded.  No withdrawals will be processed without written notification.

The student desiring to withdraw is strongly encouraged submit this form in person and meet with the Student Accounts office to discuss the financial implications of withdrawal.  Click Here for the Official Withdrawal Form.

Upon receipt of the Official Withdrawal Form, the college’s Student Accounts Office may make a partial tuition refund. The date on which such notice is received will be considered the effective date of withdrawal. All students are refunded according the following schedule:

Return of Title IV Funds Policy

Federal regulations require that students who withdraw from all classes prior to completing more than 60% of enrollment term will have their eligibility for Federal financial aid recalculated based on the percentage of the term completed, which shall be calculated as follows:

  • Number of days completed by the student/Total # of days in term
  • The total number of calendar days in a term excludes any scheduled breaks of more than 5 days.

Satisfactory Academic Progress

Financial aid recipients are required by both federal and institutional policy to be making Satisfactory Academic Progress. Students are expected to be working at a reasonable pace towards a degree or certificate and be maintaining at least the minimum grade point average required for graduation. The course catalog provides more detailed information in regards to Satisfactory Academic Progress at the college.

Students who do not meet the satisfactory academic progress standard are placed on financial aid probation. Failure to improve academic standing by the end of the probationary period will result in the termination of all financial aid.

Reentry to the College

Students who have voluntarily left or been dismissed from the college for at least one semester and desire to reenter the program, must complete the reentry form and receive the approval of the Dean of Academic Affairs and the student’s respective program chair. The readmission form is available online or from the Registrar’s office.

Reentry will be granted on a space-available basis and is not guaranteed.  Prior balances must be cleared before reentry will be considered.

If the student has been away from the college for at least three semesters, the student must apply for readmission with the Admissions office and be subject to the admission and programmatic requirements of the current catalog. Students should contact the Admissions Office directly for more information.

Readmission Policy for Activated Military

Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology makes every effort to accommodate the needs of Veterans who are activated during the semester. If a service member is withdrawn due to college policies, Franklin Cummings Tech will allow active-duty service members to be readmitted to the college, provided their absence was less than 30 days. Service members must provide appropriate documentation of their activation to be reinstated. Students needing to miss class due to short term military obligation should notify their instructors and success coach of their absence.
