Do you want a great job in your field?
Franklin Cummings Tech offers a year-long co-op and registered apprenticeship. Students in associate degree programs work for pay in their field of study, providing a path to better careers and higher salaries. It doesn’t have to be a choice between work or school. It can be both.
Elements of Both Models
- A year-long, paid work experience that begins after the first year of college
- A semester-long seminar in how to get and keep a great job
- A pathway to a full-time role after graduation
- A supervisor who is committed to student skill development
- Regular check ins with both students and supervisors to ensure a successful experience
- Academic credit for projects completed on the job, so that students can work and still graduate on time
- A starting wage of at least $20/hour, with pay increases linked to completion of key learning outcomes
Elements of the Co-op
- Start dates in May or December
- Initial full-time work (during summer or intersession), followed by part-time work as students complete their degree full-time
- Up to 12 months long (~1000 hours total)
- Available for students in all 2-year degree programs
Elements of the Registered Apprenticeship
- WIOA voucher of up to $10,000 to help students pay for their second year of college
