FAQs for Students

Why should I attend?

Students and alumni who attend the job fair get to talk to people who are not only in charge of hiring, but who already understand the value that BFIT students can bring to their organization. You can introduce yourself and hand your resume directly to people who hiring. You don’t need an appointment; just a plan for which companies you want to visit during the Fair. Each year, many BFIT students are able to arrange interviews at the Career Fair and some students are hired on the spot.

How do I prepare and does it cost money?

The Career Fair is free for students and you don’t need to register in advance to attend. But you will be more successful at the Fair if you attend the Career Expo on March 18th,12-1:30 p.m.

At the Expo, you can get help:

  • Creating (or polishing) your resume
  • Practicing your interviewing skills
  • Developing a game plan for the Career Fair so you can make the most of your time
  • Learning how to use company websites to do some research before the fair
  • Knowing what to say in the thank-you emails you’ll send out after the event

Knowing what to expect will make the Career Fair a lot less nerve-wracking. Being well prepared will set you up for career success. In addition to the Expo, Career Services offers workshops throughout the school year to help you with your job search. We even provide free professional attire for those who need it.
