Early College at Benjamin Franklin Cummings Institute of Technology—known as Franklin Cummings Tech—is committed to serving high school students by giving access to career readiness and tech fields. Early College exposes and prepares students for higher education, careers, and citizenship.

Early College Opportunities at Franklin Cummings Tech

We have two programs designed to meet each student’s goals. Below you can learn more about each program and see which one is the best fit for you and your students:

Advance Standing Associates Program (ASAP) Dual Enrollment Program (and Boot Camps)

Our Advance Standing Associates Program (ASAP) gives high school seniors an opportunity to earn up to one year of college credits while they are still in high school.

Accepted ASAP students receive:

  • ASAP students are fully released to Franklin Cummings Tech during their high school senior year.
  • Admission as sophomores to one of our associate or bachelor’s degree programs after graduating from high school. As a result, ASAP students can earn their college degree just one year after their high school diploma and complete their first year of college coursework.
High School students and schools have several options to participate in Dual Enrollment programs at Franklin Cummings Tech:

  1. Students or high schools can register for one of our free Boot Camps. Participating students earn college credits, as well as a stipend for good attendance. See info about our upcoming Boot Camps.
  2. High schools interested in partnering with us can defray the cost of Dual Enrollment courses by applying for the following funding opportunities:
  3. Students can pay directly for individual courses at the special Early College rate of $180 per college credit

Dual Enrollment Students receive:

  • College courses they can take for college or high school credit. Textbooks and tools will be provided for the class and lab.
  • All Boston Public Schools students are eligible for dual enrollment credits, and all credits may be transferred into a degree program at Franklin Cummings Tech and many other colleges.
