$348K NSF Grant to Support Cybersecurity Program

May 24, 2024

The National Science Foundation has awarded Franklin Cummings Tech a $348,000 grant to support our Cybersecurity program, funded through the Advanced Technological Education Program. The NSF grant supports hands-on cyber labs, career awareness and networking, and course development. In addition, students in the Cybersecurity concentration in our Computer Information Technology associate degree program will able to take industry-recognized CompTIA certification exams at no cost for the next three years.

A series of major digital security breaches over the past year has served as a wake-up call to Corporate America about the need to invest in cybersecurity. The need for cybersecurity professionals has been growing rapidly, faster than companies can hire, and that demand is expected to continue. This grant will help Franklin Cummings Tech increase the number of students who are qualified to work in the cybersecurity field.

Many congratulations to Dr. Fathima James and Dr. Meredith Quinn, who are the co-PIs on the project!  You can learn more about our Cybersecurity associates degree program on our website.
