September 22, 2024

The college has elected Liberty Mutual executive Dr. Tiffany Dotson and environmentalist and entrepreneur Peter Bauer as new additions to its Board of Trustees. These individuals bring remarkable leadership skills and international business experience to a diverse and robust board dedicated to continuing the college’s mission of delivering transformative technical and trade education that leads to economic advancement for its graduates.

Dr. Tiffany Dotson is vice president and head of Enterprise Learning and Development at Liberty Mutual. With over 28 years of experience growing individuals and leaders, Dr. Dotson has mastery in executive and organizational coaching, designing high-potential development experiences, adult learning, leadership development, and the neuroscience of leadership. She is recognized for her remarkable ability to inspire excellence, create progressive and stimulating leadership solutions, build trust and rapport, and quickly establish credibility with other executives. Prior to Liberty Mutual, Dr. Dotson was the executive director of the Leadership Edge at JP Morgan Chase. She holds doctorate and master’s degrees in adult learning and organizational leadership from Columbia University where she is also an adjunct professor of executive development.

Peter Bauer is the co-founder and former CEO of Mimecast. Newly retired, he is now focused on serving on the Mimecast Board of Directors and engaging in pursuits, philanthropy, and projects that have the potential to positively impact the world through climate tech ventures, workforce development, and sustainability. An ardent sustainability advocate, Peter developed an affinity for Franklin Cummings Tech as the college has increased its focus on curricula in the areas of cybersecurity, renewable energy, and climate/clean tech. Bauer earned his diploma in marketing management from the Institute of Marketing Management, South Africa; and holds an honorary doctorate from Plymouth State University.

“These new trustees will provide insight and guidance to FC Tech’s work of delivering economic and social impact through our dynamic and entrepreneurial curricula, which creates pathways to prosperity for our graduates while building the diverse tech talent our region needs,” said Turahn Dorsey, chair of the Board of Trustees. “Tiffany and Peter’s deep experience in strategy, entrepreneurship, and team-building will fortify Franklin Cummings Tech’s commitment ensuring student’s career success and deeper employer engagement in the industries driving our regional economy.”

The new trustees join the Board of Franklin Cummings Tech as the college surges forward on construction of a new state-of-the-art campus in Roxbury’s Nubian Square, launches a cybersecurity clinic with the support of Google, and welcomes its first incoming class of biotechnology associate degree program students; all of which reflect of the college’s Future Forward strategy to align curricula and training with today’s tech and trade workforce demand. These new program areas join with the college’s established areas of study such as: renewable energy, sustainable construction management, heat pump installation, and electric/hybrid/ICE vehicle repair.
