Dr. Marvin Loiseau Named Dean of Academic Affairs

Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology has named Marvin Loiseau Ed. D. to serve as the school’s Dean of Academics. Dr. Loiseau entered the role at the end of the spring 2020 semester following nine years as the Dean of Recruitment for BFIT.

During his time working in higher ed and on his own education, Dr. Loiseau has developed a deep understanding of how academic programs can prepare students for work and for life along with the knowledge and skills to navigate complex procedures and regulations. These abilities are crucial for a Chief Academic Officer who oversees teaching and learning, and who guides the Institution through accreditation and compliance.

“Marvin is a charismatic and thoughtful leader who has worked tirelessly to get where he is today. He is truly committed to the success of every student that comes through our campus,” says BFIT President Anthony Benoit. “As we adapt to a post-pandemic world, Marvin is perfect for enhancing the mission of BFIT, showcasing the power of higher education, and empowering individuals to reach their full potential. We are proud to have him as part of our leadership team.”

Prior to joining the college in 2011, Dr. Loiseau served as Associate Dean of Admissions at Mount Ida College and as Assistant Director of Admissions at Babson College. In his new role, Dr. Loiseau will work to increase the relevance and effectiveness of BFIT’s curricula, to improve learning environments, and to boost retention and to raise the college’s graduation rate, which currently sits about twice the national average for two-year colleges.

“I am thrilled to take the next steps in my career here at BFIT where I can continue to share my passion for higher education with the diverse and talented communities of greater Boston,” says Dr. Loiseau, “There has never been a more opportune time for higher education in the engineering and technology fields, and I look forward to working with leadership at the college, along with our faculty, students, and employer partners, to teach and prepare the next generation of technical professionals.”

Dr. Loiseau holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Management from Mount Ida College, a Master of Education in Higher Education in Administration from Suffolk University, and a Doctor of Education from Northeastern University.
