CNC Machining Students in Lab

Haas Foundation Grant

April 8, 2021

The Gene Haas Foundation recently awarded BFIT a $10,000 grant, which will be used to fund scholarships for students in the Division of Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology and to support BFIT’s Robotics Club.

The primary mission of the Gene Haas Foundation is to partner with schools to introduce students to career opportunities in Manufacturing and to provide scholarships to students who choose training in CNC Technology and/or Manufacturing Engineering. We are extremely grateful for the Haas Foundation’s generous support of our students.

Programs offered through BFIT’s Division of Electrical Engineering and Engineering Technology provide hands-on experience with industry-specific production processes used in the field of Advanced Manufacturing. In the accompanying picture, two students from the Mechanical Engineering Technology Class of 2021 Bachelor’s Degree Program learn to program the controls to operate a Haas CNC Mini Mill. The Mill provides training on the process of drilling and/or cutting metal objects.
