Important Notice About Interruption in Access to Student Portal and CAMS
Franklin Cummings Tech is in the final stages of implementing Jenzabar One, a cloud-based Student Information System that will provide an improved experience for student registration, financial aid, payments, and enrollment, as well extensive general ledger tools and resources for staff and faculty.
Our current CAMS system—including the Student Portal—will be shut down at 5pm on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2024. A number of college systems will remain “dark” until Oct. 7 when the new Jenzabar (J1) system is expected to launch.
This transition period WILL NOT affect your access to:
- Canvas or your access to classes through Canvas
- Your franklincummings.edu email
- Office 365 tools
- Sharepoint
- Teams
- Paylocity
Closure Resources for Students
Here is how students can continue to obtain services while CAMS and the Student Portal are offline.
- Student Billing and Balances: Contact Student Services at studentaccounts@franklincummings.edu with questions about your bill or balance. Please note that you will not have the ability to view your balance online until the systems are back live.
- Tuition Payments:
Payment Plans
– No action is required if you signed up for a Payment Plan with the auto debit feature. Your payments will be processed as scheduled.
– If you signed up for a Payment Plan and do not have an auto debit, you must pay via this link: franklincummings/edu/payment (select Tuition Payment).
Regular Payments
– If you are paying your balance in full, use this link to make your payment: - franklincummings/edu/payment (select Tuition Payment).
- Financial Aid: Contact the Financial Aid Office (financialaid@franklincummings.edu) with questions about the financial aid process or your award.
– If you are borrowing Federal Loans and you have not completed the required Entrance Counseling and Master Promissory Notes, use the links below:
* Entrance Counseling
* Master Promissory Note
Note: your Federal Loans will be removed if your financial aid process is not completed by September 30th. This will result in a higher balance owed to the college. - Enrollment Documents: Any missing enrollment documents (e.g., immunization records and final transcripts) should be sent to admissions@franklincummings.edu. The Admissions office is open Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm for drop-ins.
Info for Staff and Faculty
For those staff or faculty members who use CAMS or the CAMS portal regularly, please speak with your supervisor about what you might need to know about accessing or tracking information during this time period.
About the new Jenzabar Platform
What is Jenzabar One?
Jenzabar One (J1) is a flexible, cloud-based platform designed and built exclusively for higher education institutions. The J1 platform will house our Student Information Systems (SIS) and Financial Information System (FIS). All Franklin Cummings Tech employees will use J1 for tasks such as student enrollment, advising, grades, student billing, purchase orders, and vendor payment. The college will continue to use Paylocity for HR and Payroll.
What is changing exactly?
J1 will replace our legacy student information system, CAMS, as well as the Student Portal and Faculty Portal. A few weeks after J1 goes live, Jenzabar Recruitment Manager (JRM) will replace our current Salesforce instance. (JRM will be used by the admissions team to manage applications/applicants.) Also after J1 goes live, we will be launching the Jenzabar education portal (MyFranklinCummings), a user-friendly website where:
- Students will be be able to clearly view their degree audit, guided pathway data, and class availability to fulfill their degree requirements and register for the upcoming term.
- Staff will be able to create budget submissions, track expenses against the approved budget, and submit and approve expense requests.
